1. Interested Applicants must submit the following from February 25 to June 24, 2011 at Focus on the Global South-Philippines (19 Maginhawa St., UP Teachers Village, Diliman, Q.C.):
    • Duly Completed Application Form
    • Brief Biography / CV of Team Members / Individual
    • Concept Paper containing the general background and idea of the proposed video, an inventory of suggested audio-visual materials to be used and the means to obtain them, and indicating the language to be used for the production
      • The Concept Paper must be no more than five (5) pages. Standard formatting will be Times New Roman Font 12, Single-Spaced, a 1-inch margin all around.
      • The Concept Paper may be written in English or Filipino.
    • Detailed Production Timetable containing the schedule of the following:
      • The Submission of the Production Script
      • The Production Drafts
      • The Submission of the Final Production
      • Post-Production Processes
  2. Applications must be hand-carried to the Focus-Philippines office on or before April 25. Applications sent by mail will be entertained but should be post-marked April 25. Late submissions or submissions via email will not be entertained.
  3. For team applicants, a representative must be assigned to act on behalf of the team. All official communications will be carried out through this representative.
  4. All videos proposed by applicants in their Concept Note are expected to deal with issues and concerns centered on People Power and all or either the three EDSA events. More specifically, the films produced must touch upon the theme of “re-imagining EDSA.”
  5. All videos proposed by applicants for the special categories (youth, women, migrants) in their concept note must also relate to the category in which they are applying.
  6. Dialogue for the proposed videos can be in Filipino, English or any dialect. For entries in Filipino and local dialects, English subtitles will have to be provided.
  7. Only Filipino citizens may apply for the EDSA Mo, EDSA Ko! video grant.
  8. Interested applicants may submit only one (1) entry each, whether as an individual or as member of a team.
  9. Relatives of Focus-Philippines staff, the EDSA Stories Project Production Team and the EDSA Stories Editorial Board, up to second degree of consanguinity, are not allowed to apply for the video grant initiative.
  10. The EDSA Mo, EDSA Ko! grants are only for original work created solely for the grant. Works already in production before April 24, 2011 are disqualified.
  11. Throughout the selection process, shortlisted applicants may be contacted by phone or email. Interviews will be scheduled with shortlisted grantees as necessary.
  12. Up to ten (10) selected grantees will be announced on May 24, 2011. They will be notified by mail and email. Focus-Philippines will not shoulder the traveling costs of the grantees.
  13. The decisions of Focus-Philippines regarding the selection of grantees are final.
  14. Entries selected for the EDSA Mo, EDSA Ko! video grant cannot be withdrawn. All selected grantees are required to finish their video projects.
