Pastor Boy Saycon is the secretary-general of the Council of Philippine Affairs (COPA), one of the civil society groups involved in the movement to remove then President Joseph Estrada from office. Saycon was also one of the prime movers in the organization that got former General Fidel V. Ramos elected to the presidency. Saycon was a founding member of Lakas Tao (Human Strength), President Ramos’ original political party. He was also behind the consolidation of the United People Power Movement during Ramos’ presidency.

Boy Saycon was likewise a Convenor of KAMPI (Ally of Filipino Citizens – Kabalikat ng Mamamayang Pilipino), the political vehicle of President Gloria M. Arroyo. He was with Arroyo’s administration in its early days, but soon had a falling out with her after he outspokenly criticized her administration policies. He was sued for libel, but was eventually acquitted by the court.

Saycon is still head of COPA and a top political operator. He supported the candidacies of President Noynoy Aquino and Vice-president Jejomar Binay in 2010.
