Wilson Fortaleza was a student activist during the time of Corazon Aquino. After college, Fortaleza served as president of Sanlakas, a nationwide multi-sector, party-list organization. He was also former vice-president of Freedom from Debt Coalition (FDC), a coalition of different organizations working towards debt bondage and progressive economic policies. He once served as spokesperson of Bukluran ng Manggagawang Pilipino (Unity of Filipino Workers – BMP) during the time of revolutionary leader Ka Popoy Lagman.

Fortaleza is a writer, public speaker, lecturer and media communications officer. He currently edits Workers’ Digest, the monthly bulletin of the Partido ng Manggagawa (Workers’ Party – PM).
